The city of Budapest has hosted the second seminar of the EU-funded research project on the reintegration of migrant youths. The project aims to study the feasability of return options and local approaches in dealing with foreign unacompanied migrants, particularly if they are victims of trafficking.
Democracy, Cities & Drugs Project - Phase 2
The kick-off seminar of the DCD II project has been held in Paris on June 20th & 21th. The seminar offered city representatives the opportunity to have a global presentation of the project and presentations of the 5 thematic platforms programmes

A new publication, the handbook Planning, Urban Design, and Management for Crime Prevention !
Produced with the co-financing of the European Commission, the regions of Emilia-Romagna and Ile-de-France and the Polytechnical University of Milan, this handbook aims at introducing safety criteria on urban planning.

French Crime Prevention Award 2008
10 000 Euros to win ! The French Forum for Urban Safety organises this year for the first time the French Crime Prevention Award, under the sponsorship of the Comité Interministériel de la Prévention de la Délinquance (CIPD) and the Agence nationale pour la cohésion sociale et l'égalité des chances (FIPD).
Field Visits
The 4th field visit of the EFUS project Innovative strategies to prevent re-offending takes place on July 3-4 in Paris. During this first project phase, partners are identifying strategies and see how an effective partnership between different people concerned by social cohesion can be put in place, with a partnership being the only method which guarantees a global and diverse approach. Through study visits and exchange of innovative practices, partners will develop recommendations aimed at the people involved locally and will form a pilot programme. A website dedicate to this project will be available in September, before this time all information will be on the EFUS’s website.

New Member City
The German city of Stuttgart has recently joined the Forum. All members wish the city and it's people a warm welcome in the network.

New representation Office in Budapest
During the International Conference on Urban Safety, organised on April, 29-30 by the City of Budapest, Vice President of the EFUS, Mr Bela DANIELISZ, President of the General Assembly and of the Committee for Public Order and Safety, inaugurated the new representation office of the Forum in Budapest, which wil be dedidated to the developement of our network in Central and Esatern Europe.
